Alexa’s Flat Line of Fries.

Pretty freaked out by Amazon Alexa right now. Can anyone help?

Amazon Echo Dot

On a whim, like many things I do, I asked Alexa to ‘go get me some chips’.

Her reply was cryptic, puzzling and bordering on the scary.

She said:

“Chips is a flat line of fries and the last McDonald’s burger in Iceland.”

What does this mean? Why is she saying these things? What does she want from me?

The only thing I have found through internet investigation is that McDonald’s closed all it’s shops in Iceland (the country, not, as I first thought, the shop that all Mums go to) and some Icelandic bloke kept a cheeseburger and some fries and placed them in a freezer to see how long they lasted.

Apparently, it’s still fine today, some 12 years later, which says a lot about McDonald’s food.

Okay, so there may be a link there, but why the hell is Alexa telling me this when I ask her to get some chips?

Do I have some kind of odd destiny to be the person who eats that 12 year old cheeseburger?

To be honest, I’d give it a go.
